I use these quite often, but I have to construct my own base tutorial included below. The Dollar Tree frame is a raised frame in that the top is higher than the bottom. The top two rings lay flush, giving it a flat top. The Dollar Tree frame differs from a true raised frame in that on a true raised frame, each level, or ring, is higher than the last. The raised frames come in a variety of sizes, even small ones that are great for making ears or doing dog wreaths, etc.
Raised frames give a wreath a fuller, 3-dimensional appearance as compared to a flat frame. If you want fullness and that 3-dimensional WOW factor, then raised frames are the way to go. Next are the flat frames found at most retail craft stores . These are great if you want to build a wreath using small flowers. Then we have flat frames available in several shapes. Shown here is a heart-shaped how to decorate your tree with deco mesh wreath also available at retail craft stores .
Again, these flat frames will not be as full and 3-dimensional as a raised frame. Work wreath frames come with ties how to check electrolytes in battery attached . The reason is because by the time you add your mesh, it becomes a inch frame.
This particular one is referred to as a Pencil Work Form because the ties are very thin. Next is the work wreath with thicker ties . I like to work with these best. You get the raised frame and the ties already evenly spaced. Note that you can also find work wreaths with flat frames . Next is a work wreath that mimics the look of an evergreen wreath . These bases have thicker ties, and a whole lot more ties added to the wreath for fullness! The next example I have for you is the Rail Work Wreath .
Rail work wreaths can be used to create beautiful centerpieces, or to create decor for your mailbox. They are flexible and bendable.
I also have a bunny-shaped work form with ties already attached . There are tons of other work form shapes available such as hearts, stars, How to do the wet look hair hats, horses, support ribbons, witches hats….
The last type of frame I want to show you are wreath boards that come in a variety of shapes. These are made to be used with zip ties. I have lots of videos showing you how to use several of these frames. Today, I want to show you how to take the dollar tree frame and use pipe cleaners to make your base. Select your coordinating color for the pipe cleaners. Decide on the spacing of the ties around the frame. I like to start my first tie at the bottom by the crossbar .
A good idea is to twist the pipe cleaner tightly around two of the outermost levels. To decide where to start the next tie, lay our first tie down. Where it ends is where you want the next tie to be attached, usually about 4 inches. Make sure you wrap the pipe cleaners tightly. I added 10 pipe cleaners, evenly spaced, to the outermost rings of this particular Dollar Tree frame. Space the inner pipe cleaners evenly between the outer ring ties.
You should have 8 ties total on the inner ring. For examples and tutorials on how to make a variety of wreaths, check out my YouTube Channel: Hardworking Mom. This Christmas we donated a tree to the Festival of Trees. The trees are sold and need to look as professionally-decorated as possible. Many decorate using a theme and others just decorate based on color schemes. When it came to decorating a Christmas Tree, I had never learned any rules of what to do and what not to do.
I attended the Festival of trees decorating class and I learned a lot. I also did research online and for more information I actually went to see and speak to multiple professional tree decorators. I took notes and used the techniques they taught me on the 10 ft tree we donated, the 7 ft tree we own, and a little 2. Here are the steps of what I learned:. A focal point that is dead center is a bit boring. The focal point of the camera tree is the gold camera in the frame on the lower left.
The tiny tree was so small I used the bird as the focal point at the top of the tree. I used 3 different types of ribbons, deco mesh, and also camera film spray painted gold. Research online, look around and try to think of a theme and ways to do the theme in more unpredictable manner. Below I used dream catchers, coral beads, turquoise, Native patterned ornaments, and feathers, with a Native bird carving on top.
Make sure not to put valuable items near the ground. Have them higher up. Buy plastic non-breakable ornaments for the lower areas of the tree. Use colors that look great together. If you are unsure, pick one color and Google what colors will go with it. This is the completed tree we donated. We named it Yearning for the Light. Here is the YouTube link if you would like to see all sides of the tree.
Click here for the numbers of ornaments you should use per tree guide. Love your decorations for decorating the tree, but I especially love the Brownie camera. I still have mine from my childhood and would love to be able to light it like your father did. Any directions on how he did that? I went to a Christmas store and they had a lighting section. I bought a bulb that flashes. Then I got a wire that you connect to the bulb.
We opened the brownie, put the bulb in place of the lens and ran the wire from the back out of it down the tree trunk and plugged it in. The camera has its own strand of cord. Although he did most of it. I bought everything and saw how he did it.
We wired the brownie to the tree. Happy decorating! I found your site to not only be creative but smart! Then get smaller and work your way out and up. Just an opinion though. Thank you for your advice on how to decorate a tree professionally. I love the browie camera it is so unique. I am going to decorate now. Your email address will not be published.
